Kristi Lashlee

Another angel arrived in heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, April 14, 2015. Kristi June Deaver Lashlee was born June 4, 1937 in Kopperl, Texas, to Reverend (Chaplain) D.O. Deaver and Mamie Blanche Crabtree. Both of Kris's parents predeceased her.

Kris met the love of her life, Cpl Robert W. Lashlee USMC, in Sasebo, Japan on January 12, 1955. She and Bob were united in marriage at the First United Methodist Church in Hernando, Mississippi, on January 12, 1956. She was very proud to be called a military wife the next seventeen years. Bob retired in 1973 and the family moved to Beebe, Arkansas.

During Kris and Bob's fifty-nine years of marriage they were blessed by the birth of two beautiful children, Dr. Robert W. Lashlee, Jr., wife, Tamee Garrett Lashlee, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Pamela Denise Lashlee Padgett, husband, Scott Padgett, of Conway, Arkansas.

They were honored by the birth of eight grandchildren, Robert W. Lashlee III (Emily), Matthew "Matt" Robert Lashlee, Tiffany Lashlee Swanstrom (Steve), Trevor Adams (Kelsey), Andrea Reid, Austin Padgett, Jacob Padgett (Lacy), Tina Padgett; five great-grandchildren, Julia Lashlee, Lily Lashlee, Brooke Swanstrom, Miraya Reid, and Evelyn Scott Adams.

Kris earned her Associate Degree of Business Management from Arkansas State University-Beebe and attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway earning her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a Master's Degree in Psychology and Counseling. Kris later earned an Education Specialist Degree from Arkansas State University Jonesboro. She served as an Educator for twenty-six years. She was given the task of developing the first Adult Education Department in White County, located on the campus of Foothills Vocational Technical Institute (presently known as Arkansas State University-Searcy) and was instructor for the program before becoming Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Services, for which she had a great passion. She retired from education in 2001.

Kris had an outstanding talent for the art of crocheting, sewing and knitting. She enjoyed working with Bob in their beautiful yard which features many varieties of Azaleas and Knockout Roses of every color. She enjoyed the beauty of her many potted plants and hanging baskets. In addition, Kris enjoyed sitting and reading a great mystery book for hours in the evenings, while watching TV programs on AETN.
