Kenny Hughes

Kenny Oscar Hughes, 70 of Sherwood Arkansas departed this life Saturday, March 6, 2021.  Kenny was born to Oscar and Elizabeth Hughes on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1950. He is survived by his sister, Penny Harper (Paul); his nephew, Johnny Duke; his niece, Shannon Ward; and his most beloved faithful and loyal companion, Maule. He also leaves other extended family members and numerous special friends to cherish all those memories and moments that only Kenny could have made happen.

After serving two years in the United States Air Force, Kenny joined his parents in the dairy bar business.   Kenny then opened "The Spot" in the Levy Area of North Little Rock, which was known for the best foot long chili dogs west of the Mississippi.  Kenny raced motorcycles and hot rods in Arkansas and Texas, winning many events.   He earned his pilot's license and bought his own airplane. He enjoyed anything with a motor.  Kenny's favorite times were at the "Duck Club" in Augusta, just spending time with all of his hunting and fishing buddies and his dog, Maule.

A special thank you to Dr. Matthew Steliga, Dr. Ali Safdar Khan, and Dr. Kewen Jauss, and all the "Chemo Girls" at CARTI, who assisted Kenny and administered treatments. An additional very special thank you to his long time friends, Don Ed Wilson and Larry Vassar for always being there.
