Kenneth Edward Price

Kenneth Edward Price, age 66, was called to his heavenly home on September 23, 2024. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. Kenneth was the oldest child of James Edward and Laura Mason Price, born in Gary, Indiana, in 1957. At the age of 4, his family moved from Indiana to Beebe, Arkansas, where he lived most of his life. After marrying the love of his life, Naeta (Nan) Price, they built a house and settled on the farm in the exact spot where his grandparents previously lived. Oh, how he loved that piece of land where he was raised! Kenneth attended Beebe Schools, grades 1-12 and completed two years of college at ASU-Beebe.

In high school, Kenneth was known for his athletic ability and his love for the game of football. He was known as one of the best football players to ever attend Beebe Schools and still loved nothing more than watching a good football game on television. His high school coach, Jim Bivens, was quoted as saying he might have been the best defensive lineman he ever coached. Along with football, he also won awards for weightlifting, track and other sports. Other activities that he enjoyed included anything that was related to sports cars and motorcycles.

Kenneth was known for having a big sense of humor and loved talking and making wise cracks to make people laugh. Up until his death, he was entertaining and aggravating the people at the Beebe Retirement Center.

Kenneth demonstrated a work ethic that was beyond reproach, and he truly loved to work. After a motorcycle accident at the age of 16 that left him partially paralyzed, he continued to amaze people by working in the businesses of pouring concrete, raising livestock and doing lawn work. He was a true example of hard work pays off, never complaining and never thinking he was incapable of doing anything he set his mind to do. He led a life to be proud of, that focused on hard work, commitment and faith. He was a member of the Cowboy Church in Beebe until his health no longer allowed him to attend.

Kenneth was welcomed into Heaven by his loving wife, Nan, his parents and his grandparents.

Always extremely proud of his family, Kenneth leaves behind a son, Kristopher Price (Heidi); a daughter, Abbie Price Perkins (Chason); four grandsons; Lincoln Price, Kaleb Price, Mason Perkins and Reese Perkins. He is also survived by a brother, Ricky Price (Janet); two sisters, Dr. Belinda Shook (Larry) and Dr. Rebecca Cook (Quincy); nieces and nephews; Martie Benton (Rick), Matt Shook (Lauren), Paula Brittain, Stacy Stroud and Sandy Morgan, along with numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends who dearly loved him.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, with a visitation at 1:00 and a service at 2:00, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Dr., Beebe, Arkansas. www.smithfamilycares.com
