Kenneth Ray Long

Kenneth Ray Long, Sr., age 77, of Mountain Pine, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

He was born on February 18, 1946, in Forrestor, Arkansas, the son of Roy Lee Long and Opal Fern Walker Long.  On July 26, 1966, he married Virginia Mayberry.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Patricia Hall; his son, Kenneth Long, Jr.; grandson Corbin Henson three brothers, William Long, Lonnie Long, and James Long; and one sister, Patsy Easton.

Kenneth was an outgoing person, making friends with everyone he met.  He loved hunting deer and fishing for trout and catfish.  Family meant the world to him, especially the grandkids.  He will dearly be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Virginia Long; daughter, Malinda Henson; five grandsons, Gregory Hall, Austin Hall, Gage Henson, Coley Henson and Gatlin Henson; one granddaughter, Shayna Henson; two brothers, J.L. Long and Jimmy Long; one sister, Dorthy Wilson; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside service will be held on 9:00AM, Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in the Hughes Cemetery, Mountain Pine with Bro. Joe Thompson officiating.  

Visitation will be 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
