Kenneth Johnston
Kenneth Robert Johnston, 97, of Maumelle, passed away November 29, 2018. Born to George and Agnes Pinard Johnston in Oil Hill, Kansas, he was raised in a true "Little House on the Prairie." He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, retired from home improvement sales, and loved to go to garage sales and fix things.
Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Fichera, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruby Rose Johnston; daughter, Kelly Johnston-Jeffus (Kenna Jeffus) of Conway; brothers, Donald Simpson of Oregon and Jeff Johnston of Racine, Wisconsin; and grandchildren, Savannah Wirtz, Jackson Wirtz and Stephany Gray-Wirtz, all of Conway.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 4 at 10:00 a.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 9:00, at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), officiated by Dr. James Daniel and Bro. Bobby Howard. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
Pallbearers will be Jackson Wirtz, Michael Rose, Doc Whitehurst, Mark Nowatny, Stuart Scheiderer and Egil Anderson.
