Kenneth Herschel Holcomb

May 17, 1935 — April 3, 2022

Kenneth Herschel Holcomb, 86, went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2022. He was born on May 17, 1935 in Marshall County, Alabama. His parents were Mary Ridings and Earl Ridings.

Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean war.

Kenneth married the love of his life, Joanne Spencer on April 3, 1959. During their marriage he worked for Rock Island Railroad, Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific and retired after 40 years of working with the railroad.

Kenneth had many loves in his life, his wife Joanne, his son George, his grandchildren, George, Hannah and Olivia, and his great grandchildren, Tallen, Beckett, and Sophia. He loved the Lord and he loved being the official greeter at Crystal Hill Assembly of God Church, smiling and greeting everyone for many years. That smiling face will truly be missed.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Norman Holcomb, and Willie Holcomb. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Holcomb; his son, George Holcomb (Clara); three grandchildren, George Holcomb, Jr. (Heather), Hannah Holcomb (Jase) and Olivia Holcomb. His siblings Carolyn Housley (Randy), Edward Ridings (Dee) and David Ridings (Carla).

The family would like to give our sincere thanks and appreciation to the ICU North nurses at Springhill Baptist Health and a special thank you to Nurse Daniel Ramos.
