Kenneth Abbott, Jr.

Ken was born in Akron, Ohio on May 23, 1947, passed on May 16, 2019 at the age of 71. He was the oldest of five children by Kenneth and Emma Jean Abbott Sr. Ken proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Ken then worked for the V.A. Hospital until retirement as a Supervisor of Environmental Sanitation. Ken served on the board for the employee's association who helped raise money for many charities, one being Arkansas Children's Dreams in which Ken held the title of Vice-President. This Organization helped many terminally ill children make their last dreams come true. Their was always a very special place in his heart for children and Ken enjoyed seeing the smiles on their faces when they were finally able to do the things they had only dreamed of. Ken is survived by his wife of 47 years Christine Abbott of Cabot; one son, Kenneth F. (Ofelia) Abbott III of California, two daughters Michelle Abbott of NLR and Mary Ellen Abbott-Gillins of Cabot, Brothers Jim (Suziee) Abbott of Russellville and Randy Abbott of Jackonville. Ken has 5 Grandchildren: Ashley Suriano, Zack Abbott, Jordan (Elisabeth) and Abigayle Gillins and Peyton Reynolds. He also has 4 Great- Grandchildren: Oliver and Sebastian Suriano and Jackson and Jace Gillins. Ken was preceded in death by infant son Matthew Abbott, both parents Kenneth F. and Emma Jean Abbott Sr., brother Donald Abbott, nephew Dusty Abbott, niece Shannon Booth and many more loved relatives and friends. The family askes in lieu of Flowers donations can be sent to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Cancer Research. Thank you for your support and prayers may God Bless you all.
