Kay Roe, age 79, of Hot Springs, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

She was born on August 22, 1944, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Leo Couch and Hettie Branum Couch.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Dunaway; her parents; four brothers, Jr. Couch, Arnold Couch, Preston Couch, and Hershall Couch; and one sister, Lee Franklin. 

She graduated from Cosmetology school.  Kay had a flare for fashion and beauty, that led her to work for Belk Department Store where she showcased her expertise in this field. She had a passion for helping others look and feel their best. Kay's talents left a lasting impact on those she encountered during her career.  Kay's warm and caring personality touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter would light up a room and bring joy to those around her.

Outside of work, Kay found joy in various hobbies and interests that enriched her life. She had an unwavering love for Christian music, finding solace in its uplifting melodies. Additionally, she enjoyed spending time indulging in hallmark movies, dramas, and gameshows, which provided comfort and entertainment during quieter moments.

Above all else, Kay's proudest accomplishment was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and made it a priority to foster strong bonds with each family member. Whether it was attending school events or organizing family gatherings, Kay always demonstrated unwavering support and unconditional love.  The legacy of Kay Roe will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kind and loving nature will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on through the stories and memories shared by those who loved her.

Kay is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Kerry Roe and Craig and Heather Roe; five grandchildren, Noah, Maggie, Camber, Bristol and Maddox; three great-grandchildren, Walker, Waylon, and Kallie; her companion, Calvin Thomason; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. 

Funeral services 11:00AM, Wednesday, September 20, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home - Hot Springs.  Visitation 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Pencil Bluff Cemetery, Pencil Bluff.

Pallbearers are Bristol Roe, Maddox Hanayik, Austin Foret, Jake Fredieu, Craig Roe and Charles Roe.
