Kay Suzette Hardage Burns

Kay Suzette Hardage Burns, age 72, passed away November 14, 2024. She was born December 31, 1951 in Malvern to J R Hardage, Sr, and Novella Shuffield Hardage.

Kay attended Bismarck High School where she excelled in academics and was a model student. Those honors earned her a scholarship to Henderson State College where she received a BSE in English. During her teaching career she felt the need to further her education and earned a BSE and MSE in Math. She taught at Malvern Junior High, Malvern High School, Glen Rose, Arkadelphia, and Henderson State. During this time she found time to become a skilled tennis player, avid hiker and tried to spoil her beloved son, nieces and nephews. After retirement she pursued various venues in the private sector, even starting her own business. She was a devoted follower of Christ and a member of De Roche Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother J.R. Hardage, Jr.

Survivors are her husband of 49 years, Randall Burns, to whom she was married on August 7, 1975; and son, Jeffrey Burns of Bismarck, brother, Craig Hardage (Leyla) of Irving, Texas, sister-n-law, Lisa Burns Carpenter of Malvern, and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
