Katie Romes

Katie B. Romes was born on November 16, 1939 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Herman and Louvine Bone. She professed a belief in Christ at a young age and was baptized in England, Arkansas in 1951. She was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Arnette Dotson. She departed this life on Friday, December 2, 2022 at home surrounded by her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents Herman Bone and Louvine Riddle. Three brothers, Thurman, George Issac, and Columbus Bone. Five sisters Alberta Johnson, Savannah Williams, Dorothy Green-Douglas, Nancy Fitzpatrick, and Azzie Lee Bone-Winn.

She leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 64 years Freddie Romes, Sr. of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Three children, Mary D. Jones of Little Rock, Freddie Romes Jr (Tracie) of Sherwood and Rosita Maxfield (Darold) of North Little Rock; two sisters; Dora Romes of North Little Rock, Verlene Norris of Little Rock; two brothers Donald Bone and Rickey Bone (Mary Alice) of Little Rock. Two sister-n-laws, Mary Bone of Little Rock, Betty Barbee of North Little Rock; two brother-in-laws Jerry Romes Sr of North Little Rock and Johnny Romes (Linda) of Little Rock. Thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00AM-11:00AM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street) with a funeral service following at 11:00AM. Burial will be at 1:00PM at Rest In Peace Cemetery.
