Kathy Askins

Kathy Lynn Askins, age 69 of Higginson, passed away June 1, 2021.  She was born October 30, 1951 to William Lester Sewell and Helen Leona Clark in Searcy, Arkansas.

Kathy was preceded in death by two sons, Leslie Lawaye and Jeremy Lynn, a great granddaughter, Pheryn Nichole, and her parents Helen Leona and William Lester Sewell.   She is survived by her husband Eddie Lee Askins, son, Timmy Askins, daughters Syndee (Jason) Mosley and Kristie (Ray) Swafford, thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She was a devout Christian and loved spending time with family and friends.  There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family.  Kathy was always there to help in any way she could.  She had a lot of extra kids and grandkids as she was “2nd” mother and grandma to so many of her kid’s and grandkid’s friends.  Kathy was most certainly one of the strongest women any of us knew.  If she crossed your path then you were blessed.  She loved to take trips with her friends and making memories.  She absolutely loved her cherry cokes from Sonic with extra ice, extra cherry flavoring and four real cherries.  She loved shopping trips with her granddaughters and fishing trips with her grandson.  She loved camping, fishing and watching birds.

Visitation is Friday, June 4 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 West Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe.  Services on Saturday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. Smith Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial at Beebe City Cemetery.
