On July 9, 1932, she married her childhood sweetheart, Horace Bryles. In January, 1933, they moved to the farm where they would live and work together until his death in 1997. They loved the farm dearly, and Kathryn was blessed to be able to continue living there until her death.
Kathryn was an excellent cook who was especially known for her cinnamon rolls, fried pies and dinner rolls - in fact, her great-grandchildren referred to the rolls as "grandma rolls". She loved cooking for people.
She was a member of Hickory Plains Missionary Baptist Church. She lived a long life, and in reminiscing, she felt pleased with her life. She said that she was ready to go home.
