Kathleen “Kathy” Kinkel died peacefully at the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock on March 21, 2025. She was 89 years old.
Kathleen, fondly known as Kathy, was born January 5, 1936, in Carlisle, AR to the late Clint and Florence (Coats) Miller. After graduating from Carlisle High School, she attended nursing school. She became a registered nurse. Throughout her career she served in various nursing capacities, such as a surgical nurse, working in the emergency room, and working with veterans with substance abuse issues at Fort Roots. She finished her nursing career as a health nurse in the Baptist medical system.
After retirement she enjoyed travelling with her now departed husband, Chuck, and with friends and church groups. She also enjoyed spending any moment she could with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Kathy was an active member of Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock. She continued to enjoy being a caregiver in various ways and dedicated herself to caring for her husband, Chuck, as his health declined.
Survivors include her sons, William Singleton of Little Rock, Jeff Singleton (Sharon) of Evanston, IL, a step-son, Jeff Kinkel (Lee) of Signal Mountain, TN; three step-daughters, Natalie Kinkel of Houston, TX; Marianne Kinkel (Michael Yount) of Pullman, WA; Jill Kinkel of Houston, TX; and a daughter-in-law, Laura Singleton of Little Rock. Kathy had several grandchildren including: Jessica Patterson (Wright); Kathleen Finan; Jessica Groff (Sean); Emily Finan (Ryan Smith); Aly Singleton; Mia Singleton; and Benjamin Kinkel. She also had six great-grandchildren: Knox & Corinne Patterson, Wyatt Shaw, Brody Crismon, Lea Groff & Sloane Groff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kinkel, and her son, Mark Singleton.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. Little Rock, AR. Kathy will be laid to rest along side her husband, Charles at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR.
