Kathleen Frances Clausen

Kathleen Frances Clausen, 74, passed to the other side of the veil after a struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease on May 18, 2023.  She was born to Thelma Lois Larkin and Donald Irwin Pollard on August 17, 1948.  She is proceeded in death by her parents and brother, Jeffrey Scott.  She is survived by her husband Duane Edwin of 47 years, Angie Michelle York, Jeffrey Scott Bollinger (Julie), Joshua Lawrence Clausen (Amanda), Evan Donald Clausen (Brooke), Amanda Christine Beaudoin (Dan) and Spencer Duane Clausen (Sarah).  They had 22 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Kathy was raised in the St. Louis, MO area where she graduated from HS.  She attended Bradley Univ. for one year and then the Univ. of MO in Columbia as an art major.  When her youngest child, Spencer, started school she returned to school at UALR (Little Rock) and later UCA (Conway) and received a BSRN.  She was ranked number one in her graduating class.  After graduation, she worked at several of the local hospitals in Little Rock before settling in as a hospice nurse for years.  Many times she told stories to her family about how special caring for those patients was and was once described by another nurse as the most compassionate nurse he had ever met. 

Her viewing will be at the Smith Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, AR 72114 on Monday evening, May 22, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00. The funeral service will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 905 Kierre Dr., North Little Rock, AR 72116 at 10:00 on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.  She will be laid to rest at Riverwood Cemetery, 301 Carnahan Dr., Maumelle, AR 72113.
