Katherine Wilkinson

Katherine P. Wilkinson, 91, of North Little Rock, passed away November 11, 2013. She was born in Jacksboro, Texas to Oscar Bernard and Nancy Bryant Powell and was a member of Park Hill Christian Church and was past secretary of Church Women United. She worked as a research scientist at both UAMS where she went to medical school and at the Veterans Administration and published numerous scientific papers. She belonged to American Business Women where she was named National Woman of the Year in 1968. She also helped start the Food Bank at Park Hill Christian Church in North Little Rock.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Dr. A. Earl Wilkinson; daughter, Nancy Wilkinson Scott (Richard) of Little Rock; grandchildren, Richard Whittington Hall (Lydia) of North Little Rock, John David Hall, James Michael Hall (Piper), Jesse Wilkinson Hall (Neely), Caroline Sullenger (Patrick), Mary Katherine Hall (Justin Holt), all of Little Rock and Lyndsay Wilkinson Fisher (Ronnie), Whitney Wilkinson Elwart (Matt) and Evan Wilkinson, all of North Little Rock; sister, Nancy Powell Bowen of Azle, Texas; fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, David Powell Wilkinson and James Harrell Wilkinson, and two brothers, William Harrell Powell and James Lewis Powell.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Hill Christian Church, officiated by Rev. Linda White and Dr. James Farmer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Park Hill Christian Church or to one's favorite charity.
