Karen A. Peterson, 72, of Sherwood passed away March 8, 2017 peacefully at home. Karen was born July 1, 1944 to the late Alvin Peterson and Zelma Leary Peterson in Portland, ME. Karen loved good food, socializing, and experiencing people. Traveling made her very happy, especially being on cruises or more recently on trips with her Senior Center group. Her adventurous spirit made lasting memories and friendships all over the world. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Sandra Peterson. She is survived by two sons, Brett Smith and his wife Laura of Texas and Daniel Smith and his wife Angie of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren: Kimberly, Caleb, Max and Mia Smith of Texas and Alex, Elise, and Will Smith of North Little Rock; three brothers: Jan Peterson and his wife Sue of Oregon, Kurt Peterson and wife Rhonda of California and Eric Peterson of California and many other family and friends who will miss her dearly. Memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, March 16th, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 7006 Jasna Gora Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas. 72118.
