Karen Lee Jeason, age 67, of Glenwood, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016. She was born on May 2, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Theodore Edge and Ella Mae Baldwin Edge. On September 14, 1989, she married Ron Jeason. She was preceded in death by her parents; Tony Miller, whom she considered her father; her daughter, Tamara Cain; and her brother, Richard Edge. Karen retired from Michigan Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she was an insurance adjudicator. After a five year search for the perfect property, she and Ron left the Michigan winters over twenty years ago, relocated to Glenwood, and purchased that home with which they fell in love. She continued to nurture the property as she planted flowers, trees and maintained the grounds. She enjoyed crafting, loved her leather boot collection and never met a stray cat she didn't like. She is survived by her husband, Ron Jeason of Glenwood; her son, Mark (Marty) Jeason of Austin, Texas; her daughter, Kim Verbeke and her granddaughter, Alyssa Verbeke, both of Shelby Township, Michigan; her brother, Ted Edge of Parma, Michigan; her sister, Diane (Ron) Ward of Sterling Heights, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, May 23, 2016, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
