J.V. Pledger

J.V. Pledger, 82, of North Little Rock, passed away October 29, 2015. He was born October 12, 1933 in Dutch Creek, Arkansas to the late Thomas Andrew and Nena Maude Ann Walker Pledger. J.V. was a great father and grandfather, wonderful husband, believed in Jesus Christ as his savior and is walking on the streets of glory. He was an avid hunter, fantastic fisherman and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Margaret C. Pledger; daughters, Helen Sue Pledger Martin, Patricia Ann Gibbs, Peggy Sue Wallace, and Janice Michelle (Shelly) Pilger; nine grandchildren, William Henry Eugene Martin, Belinda Sue Martin Beard, Amanda Marie Martin, Christopher Michael Love, Jade Vallen Gibbs, Dexter Trey-Vaughn Wallace, Jr., Alisha Renee Collins, Amber June Henderson and Joseph Andrew King; and six great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Marie Martin, Bryce Andrew Martin, Hudsyn Riley Martin, Myra Ann Beard, Haylee Renee Beard and Mason Carter Martin. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ivy Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
