M. R. Wofford, Jr. age 80 died Thursday, September 14, 2006 at his home. He was born July 16, 1926 in Linden, TX the son of the late M. R. and Solecia Irvin Wofford. He was a retired farmer and retired employee of National Gypsum. He was preceded in death by one sister, Armadene Wofford.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Latch Wofford; one brother, Bobby G. Wofford of Arkadelphia; three sisters, Francis Buck of Arlington, TX, Dorothy Allen of Houston, TX and Christine Bowman of Redfield, AR; nine nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2:00 Pm Saturday, September 16, 2006 in Richland Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Williams officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church c/o Nancy Rowe, 199 Deceiper Hill Rd. Arkadelphia, AR 71923. Pallbearers will be Bill Bridges, Jack McCallum, David Golden, Sammy and W.L. Fendley, Don and Roy Freeman, and Bobby Dale Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Rowe and Eddie Stoker.
