June Electa Spangler

June Electa Knight Spangler, age 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 19, 2023 with both her loving sons by her side.  She was born on June 21, 1938 in Shelby, OH to the late Guy and Evelyn Knight. 

She served as an air traffic controller in the United States Air Force, and later as a nurse at the VA Hospital in Little Rock.  She raised her sons to be devoted to God and their country.  Everyone that met her always remarked of her contagious smile and quick-witted humor.  Even in her final years, she was always up for an adventure.  She was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hot Springs. 

 She is survived by her sons, Kirk (Michelly) Spangler of Orlando, FL and Eric (Laura) Spangler of Alexander, AR, six grandchildren, Kevin (Linda) Spangler, Mallory (Josh) Kruntorad, Bethany (Tim) Conley, Aaron Spangler, Lauren Spangler, Valerie; and two great-grandchildren.   June was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald E. Knight of Ohio.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of the AR Veterans Home and the VA Hospice Unit for their excellent and compassionate care during her final days. 

Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by a funeral at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.  Interment with military honors will follow at the AR State Veterans Cemetery.
