June Hollister Glasier

June Hollister Glasier died in Little Rock on January 5, 2023, at the age of 96. She was born in Maryland to Levi and Helen Hollister.

She married Mack Glasier in 1943 and accompanied him during his military career, living on bases in the US and in the Philippine Islands.

After settling in Florida, she finished her education eventually receiving a master’s degree from Florida State University while leading a busy life and raising her family.

She lived in Tampa where she had a fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher, vice principal and curriculum specialist. In retirement she travelled extensively in the US and around the world with her many friends.

She instilled in her children her intense work ethic and desire to help others. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her life. During her later years she relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas to be near family. June was a devout Christian and attended the Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist Churches.

June is survived by her son Charles (Brenda), daughters Mary Grace Glasier from Golden, Colorado and Frances Glasier (Ron) from California. June’s adored grandchildren include Paul Glasier (Katie), Evan Glasier, Elizabeth Stoffel (Matt), Adam Glasier (Ali) and Kristin Wheeler Freund (Joe). She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.

The family is grateful for the loving care given by the staff of Memory Care of Arkansas and Saline Memorial Hospice.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church Little Rock on January 28, 2023, interment to follow in the Tom E. Weir Meditation Garden on the church grounds. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army, the Arkansas Foodbank or Dorcas House women and children’s shelter in Little Rock.
