June Bates
June Bates died December 5, 2014. She was born June 17, 1936 to the late Velma Adcock and R. Vernon Bates in Monticello, AR. June grew up in Dermott and graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College with a degree in Home Economics Education. While she was in education for several years, she was happier and more successful in retail sales.
Survivors are Nonie (Melvin) Carpenter of Lake Village, AR, Sherry (Larry) Beard of El Dorado, AR, four nephews and one niece. She is also survived by numerous relatives and friends, including the Cockrum family of Pine Bluff, AR. The friends know who they are.
June was brought up Methodist and became a student of Unity Principals in the 1980's. As she matured she gained a very close relationship with her Lord and Maker.
June's passion was her needlework. She enjoyed sharing it with relatives, friends, and those less fortunate.
