Julian O'Kelley, 94, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018. He attended Bethany Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He volunteered at the VA Hospital, assisting other Veterans with crafts and leather work. He was well loved by all that knew him.
Mr O'Kelley held a variety of jobs during his career. After he got out of the military, he went into the crop dusting business, then he worked for the Arkansas State Police, and retired from the Little Rock Police Department. He had numerous side jobs including driving for Missouri Pacific Busline, working at Arkansas Weights and Standards and driving trucks. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family.
He is survived by his children, Eva Sue O'Kelley of Flat Rock, Michigan; Kathy Arman (Ricky) of Sherwood, Arkansas; Patrick O'Kelley (Susan) of Sherwood, Arkansas; and Annette Butler of North Little Rock, Arkansas; his brother Gerald O'Kelley; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Living grandchildren are Melanie Blackburn, Bobbie Snow, and Wendy Lipke, Jason Arman, Dennis Arman, Cassie Powers, Dea Anne Kay, Mary Ann Rutledge, and Mike Butler. Great grandchildren are Ashley Lipke, Austin and Trevor Giacomantonio, Kayla, Justin, and Noah Arman, Belle Arman, Dylan Richardson, Matthew Arman, Brandon and Caitlin Powers, Carter DeBord, Ben and Will Rutledge, Addison and Ella Kay, and Jake Butler. Great Great Grandchildren are Desierea, Michael, and Gavin Giacomantonio.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary O'Kelley, his parents, Sid and Eva O'Kelley, one brother, James O'Kelley, a grandson, Scott Safely and a granddaughter, Melissa Arman.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am, Friday December 21st at Smith- North Little Rock Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9 am to 10:00 am, Friday, just prior to the funeral service. Burial will be immediately afterwards at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
