Julian Ray Hurt, Sr.

Julian “Shorty” Ray Hurt, Sr., also known as “Pop”, 87, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away September 3, 2024. He was born August 11, 1937, in Wilmot, Arkansas to the late Harvey and Florence Hurt.

Shorty is preceded in death by his son, Julian Ray Hurt, Jr.; brother, Kenneth Hurt; and sister, Shirley Perry. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Hurt; sons, Danny (Donna) Hurt and Jeff (Sheryl) Hurt; grandchildren, Danny, Amy (Stephen), Hudson (Constance), and Harrington; great-grandsons, Sage and Blaine; nephew, Kirk (Judi) Hurt; special friends, John and Kerri Watson, Shane and Dana McCall, Jim and LaRue Launius and Doris Watson; along with a host of family and friends. 

Shorty was a man of simple pleasures. He enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street) with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park.
