Julia Carreker Mathias age 84 of Arkadelphia died Friday January 20, 2012. She was born December 2, 1927 the daughter of Jesse Frank and Claire Dickey Carreker. She was a graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon, GA, member of the Colerean Club, Woman's Library Club, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Arkadelphia, where she belonged to the Evans-Mclean Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles William Mathias Sr.
Survivors include one son, Charles William Mathias Jr. and his wife Michelle of Spring, TX, one daughter, Claire Gehrki and her husband Gary of Arkadelphia, and five grandchildren, Julie, Paul, and Katie Gehrki and Gloria and Will Mathias.
A memorial service will be 11 AM Tuesday, January 24th at the First United Methodist of Arkadelphia with Rev. Carroll Jackson officiating. Private interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. There will be no formal visitation.
