Julia Anne Malak, 86, of North Little Rock died Tuesday, September 13, 2022. She was born August 17, 1936 to the late Louise and Arthur Hedgecock and lived most of her life in North Little Rock. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
A graduate of North Little Rock High School, she was employed as Secretary/Bookkeeper at Arkansas AFL-CIO for 40 years, retiring in 2003. She served as an officer of Office and Professional Employees Local Union 105 for 35 years.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, her brother, Phillip Hedgecock, and sister, Kay Woiteshek. She is survived by two daughters, Kim Wickliffe of Conway, and Nikki Harper of Ward; five grandchildren, Jason Wickliffe (Sarah) of Conway, Jessica Mason (Miles) of Montgomery, Texas, Jenna Caple (Matt) of Conway, Ryan Harper of Maumelle, and Niklas Harper of Maumelle; six great-grandchildren, Brad Wickliffe of Conway, Bennett, Aubrey and Britton Mason of Montgomery, Texas, Oliver and Ezra Caple of Conway; sister-in-law Treneie Hedgecock of Little Rock; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation to be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 19, 2022 at the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock where she will be laid to rest with her husband, John.
Pallbearers include: Ryan Harper, Niklas Harper, Jason Wickliffe, Matt Caple, Mike Davis, and Grant Tomlin. Honorary Pallbearers include Members of the Arrowhead Social Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County or a charity of your choice.
