Judy Rouse, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 4, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on October 21, 1951, her family and all who knew her cherished her deeply and believed she embodied the virtuous woman celebrated in Proverbs 31:31.
Judy was known for her unwavering love for her family and friends, always prioritizing their well-being above all else. Her warmth and compassion left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to be a part of her life. In addition to her personal relationships, Judy’s proudest accomplishments include the years she and her husband spent owning and operating Select Charter Tours in Hot Springs, which brought joy and adventure to many, as well as the 54 years of marriage she spent with the love of her life.
She is survived by her devoted husband, David Rouse; her loving daughter, Tammy Caldwell, and her son-in-law, Tony Caldwell. Her legacy continues through her granddaughter, Zoe Caldwell, as well as her son, Russell Rouse. Judy will be fondly remembered by her sisters, Billie Ann More and Jo Ann Modisette, and by her brother, Terry Retherford. She also leaves behind her niece, Rhonda Fowler, her nephew, Lane Modisette, and many grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and in-laws who adored her.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Richard Thomas Retherford Jr., and her mother, Hazel Marie Huffman. Their love and teachings shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.
