Judith Ellen Eby

Our beloved wife and mother, Judith Boorman Eby, entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the age of 85.

Born and raised in Portsmouth, Ohio, Judy went on to get her bachelor's degree in teaching from Ohio University. She married John after graduating and soon started a family. Their life together was full of mutual devotion, fun, and laughter. She was a loving and gentle wife and mother who took great pride in being a homemaker and created a safe and beautiful home, where meals were always provided and everyone felt welcomed.

Volunteering in her community, Judy served as a Girl Scout leader, provided respite care for families in Hospice, and also prepared meals for Meals on Wheels. In her church she served as a Sunday school teacher, VBS leader, a nursery worker, and often volunteered to make meals to take to families in need.

Judy also found great joy and friendship from singing in the church choirs at both South Hills Community Baptist Church, in Upper St. Clair, PA, and with the Grace Notes at Living Word Church in New Port Ritchey, FL.

Leaving behind a legacy of kindness and hospitality, Judy was preceded in death by: her parents, William Henry Boorman and Thelma Alice Delong Boorman; her siblings, Bill Boorman and Linda King, and by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Carol Eby Fowler.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are: Her devoted husband of 62 years, John Clifton Eby, Jr.; her beloved children: John Clifton Eby III, and Susannah Eby (Chris) Files; her seven grandchildren, who knew her as “Grammy," and brought her delight and much pride and joy in the latter years of her life: Melinda Fowler (Jeffrey) Brown, Jillian Eby, Sarah Fowler, Samuel Files, Jesse Eby, Bethany Files, and James (Haley) Fowler. Additionally, an assortment of other extended family and friends were blessed by her love, friendship, and generous spirit.

A celebration of life service for Judy will take place at a later date.

In Christ alone, my hope is found. He is my light, my strength, my song.
