Judith Eileen Durheim

January 27, 1947 — May 26, 2023

Little Rock

Judith Eileen Durheim, 76, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away May 26, 2023. Judy was born January 27, 1947 in Enid, Oklahoma to the late Hiram Bixler and Margaret (Hesler) Bixler.

Judy was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, a supporter of LWML, and a former handbell ringer at Christ Lutheran Church with her husband, David. Whether working for Ward-Gibson Real Estate, Practice Plus, or her many years as a funeral director, her love for people was evident. She always had a smile and an encouraging word for anyone she met.  Judy enjoyed family gatherings and never missed a chance to call “them ever-lovin’ Hogs.”  She was a life-long artisan and vendor at The Cotton Shed and South Main Creative where she displayed her folk art, crafts, dolls and other handiwork. When not at The Cotton Shed, Judy participated in craft shows and enthusiastically shared her artistic abilities with others. She upcycled before it was cool and could turn junk into treasures.  In addition to blessing others with her crafting, she volunteered with the Civitan Club of Little Rock and served as local president. She loved to be involved in every activity her kids and grandkids were a part of, from Scouts to band boosters and from karate to recitals she rarely missed an opportunity to support her family.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents: Hiram Bixler and Margaret (Hesler) Bixler.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, David Durheim of Little Rock, Arkansas; two children: Darren Durheim (Kerrie) of Bryant, Arkansas and Heather Skinner (Jamie) of Bryant Arkansas; grandchildren: Delaney Durheim, Kameron Durheim, David Durheim, Angela Lee (Jonathan), Calli Skinner, Caroline Skinner, and Cate Skinner; great-grandchildren: Harper and Piper Lee; brother, Scott Bixler (Kathy) of Wichita, Kansas; sisters: Cindy Elcyzyn (David) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Joni Miller (Tim) of Owasso, Oklahoma; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends that will all miss her dearly.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 4th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 15224 Alexander Rd, Alexander, AR 72002. Funeral Service will be Monday, June 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The burial will be Tuesday, June 6th at 10:00 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
