J. Sue Young of Beebe, AR went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. She was born on August 25, 1946 in Plaquemine, LA, to Julian Boyd (J.B.) Woolsey and Julia Mae Witt.
She was a big sister and like another mother to her two brothers and four sisters. Sue grew up along the bayous of Louisiana and later moved to Calaumet, IN.; however, she finished her high school years in Carlisle, Ar. Sue has three children, ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
For years, she was a beautician and ran the Merle Norman store in England, AR. In her later years, she was the manager of the VFW Post #7769 in Beebe, Ar. Sue was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved music and loved to dance and loved to frequent the Ward Country Dance Hall. Sue was full of class and sass. She would light up a room with her smile and personality. To know her was to love her; and if you were loved by her, she immediately loved you with all she had and she would include you as part of the family.
Everyone knew, especially her grandchildren that she was always there for them. They could always go to their Nanny and she would offer them words of wisdom, advice and teach them how to be strong. Always remember that she will always love each and every one of you “to the moon and back.”
Sue loved to travel, shop and gamble. She loved to spend time with friends and family. If anyone would say, “hey! you wanna go to the casino?” She would have a bag packed and be sitting in the car waiting before you could finish saying it. She loved going on the annual trips with her grandkids. She loved making memories, she loved laughing and she loved to live.
Our family wants to express our greatest gratitude to Terri Parker Woods and Katie Castille for coming and helping with Mom during this time.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, James “Rosco” Young, her parents, Julian Boyd (J.B.) Woolsey and Julia Mae Witt, Ada Kathrine Woolsey and her siblings, Pamela Lynn Woolsey, Darlene Carter, Sandie Snead and Kenneth Lee Woolsey.
Sue is survived by her children, daughter, Shawn (David) Turbyfill of Benton; son, James Westbrook, Jr. of Beebe; daughter, Tonya (Charles) Stokes of Ward; grandchildren, T.J. Oswalt of Dallas, Tx.; Jacob Oswalt and Heath Carter of England; Landon Turbyfill, Lynsey (Rusty) Bell, Alyssa Carter of Benton; Kassie Burkett and Chelsea Burkett of Ward, AR.; Alivia Stokes of Sheridan; Sidney Westbrook of Beebe; and Great granddaughter, Aubry Oswalt of Dallas, TX. Siblings, Charles O. Woolsey, Jullianne Parker DeRouchey of Denham Springs, LA., Terri (Gill) Parker-Woods of Walker, LA., and Kathy Rivard of Williston, FL.
