Joyce Thomey

Joyce Laverne (Thompson) Thomey, 88, of Bauxite, Arkansas, passed away October 22, 2021. Joyce was born February 13, 1933 to the late William Thompson and Gladys (Logan) Thompson.

Joyce was loving and caring. Her family came before anything else. Joyce had a great sense of humor. She loved being with her two sons, extended family and grandchildren. She was in outside sales for many years and retired at the age of 81, after over 20 years with Reddy Ice Company. Joyce was an active member of Oak Grove Church since 1956. She was an avid Razorback fan. Joyce loved reading Danielle Steel novels.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Eugene Thomey; parents: William Thompson and Gladys (Logan) Thompson; precious granddaughter, Tara; sister, Bonice Brumley; and brothers: Bill Thompson and Robert Thompson.

Joyce is survived by her sons: Ronnie and wife Vicki and David and wife Debbie; grandchildren: Casey, Caroline, Jamey, Brandi, David II, Christy, Jay Wright, and Zachary; great-grandchildren: Jessi, Dylan, Dakota, Kelsey, David III, Sydney, Will, and Bailey; and a host of other family members and friends that will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St. Benton, 72015. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home followed by a burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
