Joyce Hoover

Joyce Beth Harvey Hoover went to be with God and loved ones on September 20, 2014. Born in July 1946, Joyce was reared by loving and doting parents, Fletcher and Bernice Harvey of Star City, Arkansas, both of whom preceded her in death. Grandparents, Robert Lee and Mattie Fish and Ed L. and Maggie Harvey; and two devoted husbands, B. J. Choat and Kenneth E. Hoover, also preceded her in death.

Joyce graduated from Star City High School, attended college for a year, married, and soon became a devoted mother. Joyce later served as Manager of Parkstone Place Retirement Center in North Little Rock, where she was employed from 1993 until 2012. Joyce enjoyed retirement over the last two years, spending time and traveling with a special friend, Lyle Thompson of North Little Rock. Joyce was most passionate about her relationship with Christ; her involvement in and fellow members of Kellogg Valley Baptist Church; the residents of Parkstone Place, each of whom was treasured by her; and her family, friends and two pet cats. Joyce's favorite hobbies were sewing and reading.

Joyce leaves behind her daughter, Monica Mason; son-in-law, Charles Harmon; grandchildren, Mason Elizabeth Harmon, Ashby Andrew Harmon, and Micah Olivia Harmon, all of Sherwood, Arkansas; and her sister, Lisa Harvey de Leon; niece, Allison de Leon; nephew, Marcus de Leon, and his wife, Melissa; and two great-nieces, all of Newfoundland, Canada.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, September 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Services will be held at Kellogg Valley Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m., Brother Paul Rice officiating. The family will follow with a private burial at Leek Cemetery in Star City on Thursday.

Joyce requested that friends wishing to celebrate her entry into the Kingdom of Heaven send a donation to Kellogg Valley Baptist Church.
