Joy Lynn Smith, 67 of Little Rock passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Hospice Care Center in Little Rock. She was born on May 15, 1941 in Dangerfield, Texas; she was the daughter of George Davis and Thelma Goolsby Davis. Joy was a retired housekeeper, and a member of First Christian Church of North Mississippi Street in Little Rock. She loved flowers and greatly enjoyed working in her garden and loved her music. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Thelma Davis of Texarkana. Survivors include a husband Lee Roy Smith of Little Rock; brothers Richard and Jimmy Davis of Texarkana; a sister Nancy Miller of Texarkana; two daughters Renee Harris of Amarillo, Texas, and Cherry Johnson of Little Rock; a son Tony Smith of Little Rock; and a grandson Cody Harris of Midland, Texas; a Dean Harris of Queen City, Texas; and numerous family members in the Queen City area. Granddaughters Samantha, Carla, Tascha, Morgan, and two great-granddaughters; grandsons, Chris, Jason and Russell, and special sisters Nola, Joann, Janice and Shirley. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Little Rock with Ray Wooten and David King officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Alexander.
