Joy Lowrance Hormann, 83, of Conway, went to be with Jesus on February 10, 2022. She was a born-again Christian and a long-time member of Central Baptist Church in Conway.
Joy was born to John âBudâ and Almer Lowrance in Rushing, Arkansas, on September 28, 1938. She was raised in Stone County between Rushing and Fox, which was always âhomeâ to her. She spent much of her adult life living on Wye Mountain in Perry County, Arkansas, with her beloved husband George M. Hormann (deceased). She loved Wye Mountain and its outdoor beauty.
Joy was a talented photographer and even won an award for her craft. Yet her primary focus with her trusty camera was to simply capture moments with her family. She also loved growing beautiful plants and colorful flowers.
Perhaps one of Joyâs favorite pastimes was to find bargains at any discount store or flea market. She often purchased items only to give them to someone in need. She routinely looked for opportunities to help the needy.
Joy had great respect for military veterans. She routinely thanked them for their service to our great country.
Her favorite annual event was the Lowrance family weenie roast and reunion near Fox, AR. She loved being with her family.
Joy is survived by her daughter, Angela Berry Pannell (Jerry, deceased), and son, John Berry (Shelia). She loved her grandchildren, Bobby Tuck (Liz), Tony Tuck (Heather), Ashley Myers (Kevin), Nathen Smith, and Mandy Akins (Jeff). And she loved her great-grandchildren, Krisi, Kieley, Weldyn, Zaylee, Brylee, Jaden, Cole, James, Timothy, Lilly and Kody.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son (Michael Steele) and one daughter (Tracey Geheb).
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home in Conway. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am with Funeral starting at 10:30 am. There will be a graveside service at the Fox Cemetery in Fox, AR at 2pm that day followed by a visitation with snacks.
