Joy Dean Boyd

Joy Dean Boyd of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away on September 20, 2022 at the age of 89.

She was born the oldest of eight in Finger, Tennessee on March 25, 1933 to Kent and Edna Smith.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Boyd; son, John Plunk; sisters Marie Lockhart and Lucy Boles; and brothers, Tommy Smith and infant Kent Smith.

Joy retired from Arkla Gas after many years, but her primary occupation was caring for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by sons, Bob (Valentina) Plunk, Bill Plunk; daughter, Judy (Joe) Rokovich; sisters, Margaret (Al) Stinnett, Ann Kiestler; brother, Charles (Nancy) Smith; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Joy was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star of Jacinto Lodge #216.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral will be 10:00 AM, Monday, September 26, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sumner Cemetery in Cabot, Arkansas.
