Joy Anemone

Joy Marie Anemone of North Little Rock passed away May 11, 2020.  She was born April 22, 1959 in Lake Forest, IL to the late Leon Francis Anemone and Betty Ann Robertson Anemone.

In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her brother, James Edward Anemone.  Survivors include: siblings, Leon Francis Anemone, Jr. (Susan) and Marie Lynn Anemone Fasgold; nieces, Courtney Anemone Paul (Eric), Kelsey Anemone, and Sarah Cunha (Michael); grandnieces, Ainsley, Hattie, Evie and Lucy; grandnephews: River and Ronin; and her cats, Bonnie and Clyde. She is also survived by many lifetime friends from Blue Cross & Blue Shield where she was employed for over 35 years as an FEP Financial Support Specialist.  She had many childhood friends from Lake Forest Illinois, her hometown for over 25 years that she remained in contact with over the years.

Few people have been so aptly named at birth.   Her arrival provided immediate happiness to her family, provided a spark for her grandmother, and gave the world an individual who would spend her entire life looking out for others and bringing joy to those around her.  A little ball of energy, she reigned supreme as Grandmoms’ favorite, and five years later welcomed her new little sister Marie as if created just for her personal pleasure.  With the loss of our mother at a young age, Joy, at twelve, became the lady of the house and balanced childhood with early responsibility.  She cared for her Brother James in the last years of his life.   To know her is to have loved her.  She was incapable of causing harm, yearned to make others happy, and lived a life of simple honesty.

Whether from her early childhood, her days working at Washburn Guitar, or her many years at Blue Cross, if you became a friend, you became family.  I never once remember her bragging on a possession, but she never tired of sharing her pride in those around her including her precious nieces and nephews.

Joy was full of love and kindness for others. She loved helping others and never expected anything in return. It was her nature to care about those in her life.

Joy loved the Arkansas streams and rivers, enjoying God’s creation with beautiful photographs of her adventures.  Most of all, relationships were the most important things in her life. She loved spending time with those she loved both family and friends. She always remembered exactly the last time she saw or spoke with someone.

The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice for the care they provided in Joy’s final hours to allow her a peaceful passing.

A private family service will be held later. In lieu of donations, we feel certain Joy would rather you do something kind for someone. That will make her smile.   She donated to The Humane Society and Little Rock Compassion Center. We love you Joy.
