Josue Gonzales, age 25, of Caddo Gap, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022.
He was born on November 17, 1996, in Hot Springs. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Apolinar Gonzalez and aunt, Julieanna Bates Gonzalez.
Josue was a graduate of Caddo Hills High School, where he participated and excelled in sports as a two-time state champion. He had also attended National Park College and was employed with Hot Springs Residential where he was a skilled craftsman.
Josue truly enjoyed playing any kind of sports or physical activity, and his competitiveness would never allow him to lose. He enjoyed being the family trendsetter and always being the best dressed at any family function. Our greatest memory of Josue is his smile, it would brighten up any room he would walk into and always made you feel welcomed and loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, biological father, Rogelio Gonzalez, biological mother, Graciela Solano-Martinez, mother, Efigenia Gonzalez; his siblings, Frank, Rogelio Jr., Ruth, David, and Kemberlee Gonzales, Jennifer and Jamilet Lopez, and Bryan Outen; aunt and uncles Andres Gonzalez, Claudia and Apolinar Hernandez; his loving girlfriend, Melonie Valdez; his nieces and nephews, Brandon , Jesse, Aylin, Eliseo Hernandez, and Kamilah Gonzalez; numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 21, 2022, at the New Hope Church in Glenwood with Pastor Ciro Murguia officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood.
Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Frank Gonzales, Rogelio Gonzalez, Jr., David Gonzales-Ortiz, Kemberlee Gonzalez, Brandon Hernandez, Eric Valdez, Justin Turner, and Valentin Rosa.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rogelio Gonzalez and Andres Gonzalez.
