Josephine Mills

Josephine "JoJo" Mills, age 76, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on January 31st, 2014 in the presence of her adoring family after a courageous two year battle with cancer. She was born on November 28, 1937 in Beebe, AR, to the late Ozier and Fay Moore. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Milo Moore, sister Tillie Keyes, and other loved family and friends. JoJo is survived by the love of her life and best friend, Richard "Dick" Mills, her son Richard "Marty" (Audra) Mills, and her daughter Monica (David) Wilson. She is the most beloved JoJo to her seven grandchildren: Grant (Jackie) Mills, Kristopher (Lonni) Taylor, Madison (Alex) Neville, Brittny (John) Giessmann, Marleigh Mills, Drake (Savannah) Wilson, and Cade Mills. JoJo also has six cherished great-grandchildren: Riley, Austyn, London, Lawson, Macie, and Blade. She is a treasured sister to her surviving siblings, Theresa (Bob) Edwards, JoAnn Ramsey, Ozier (Ruth) Moore, and Bobby Moore. She leaves behind a very large and much loved extended family, as well as a close-knit group of friends. JoJo grew up on a farm in Beebe, milking cows and picking cotton, and she became one of the classiest but sassiest women anyone would ever meet. She never met a stranger and was famous for informing any newcomer that, "We hug around here!" as she embraced them and made them feel completely at home. She met her soul mate and future husband of 57 years at Willow Springs Waterpark, which would eventually become their livelihood and home. Her children Marty and Monica were everything in this world to her, as was evidenced by their upbringing and the lives they have made for themselves. It was apparent to anyone who ever witnessed JoJo with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she loved them wholeheartedly, and she made it a point to create treasured traditions and memories. Some of her favorite hobbies included: tennis, bridge with friends, watching her beloved Razorbacks, traveling, and entertaining. The family looks forward to celebrating her life with all of her loved ones for a visitation at Little Rock Funeral Home on Monday, February 3rd from 12 to 2 with the service following immediately after. A memorial has been set up at the American Lung Association in her honor. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct.,(NW Corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd), Little Rock, AR 72205 (501)224-2200.
