Joseph Cullen “Doak” Walker, III, born July 13, 1960, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, died in Little Rock on October 5, 2021 of complications due to Parkinson’s disease.

Doak is survived by his loving mother, Barbara “Dal” Fletcher, his brother, Duke Walker (Becca) and his sister, Shea Siler, all of Little Rock; his sons, Tyler Wayne Lilley (Stevy) of Elkins, Arkansas and Joseph “Cullen” Walker IV of Huntsville, Arkansas; his stepmother, Kathy Walker of Royal, Arkansas; three beautiful granddaughters, Evy and Addy Walker and Karsyn Lilley. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe C. Walker, Jr., paternal grandparents, Joe C. and Lucille Walker, his aunt, Betty Singley, his cousin, Henry David Singley III, all of Little Rock and his maternal grandmother, Estelle Dalrymple of Louisiana.

Doak was a contractor. Moving to Heber Springs, Arkansas in 1989, he opened a nursery on Main Street where he lived and worked for the next 15 years. The last nine of those he worked with a select clientele at Eden Isle, where he enjoyed some of the best years of his life.

Doak had many interests including golf, geology, reading, flora and fauna, and playing games with his family. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, and a great lover of cats and dogs. He considered his dog, Fritz, to be priceless, along with his feline friend named Danger.

Doak later moved back to Little Rock to be near his mom. He was diagnosed in 2019 with Parkinsonism and MSA. At the time of his passing, he was a member of Crystal Hill Baptist Church. He was confident in his faith. Doak thanks his family and friends for stepping up to the plate and being there when he needed them the most.

Pallbearers include Pat Flowers, Jack Patterson, Pete Hornibrook, Troy Cole, Billy Conerly, Scott Tabor, Barclay Bowden, and Scott Simpson. Honorary pallbearers include, Wayne Brooks, Tracy Irwin, Richey Richards, Steve Cockmon, Dennis Bradford, and Jay Rush.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 9 at 2:30 p.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 1:00pm, at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to Arkansas Children's Hospital at Arkansas Children's Hospital - Pediatric Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas (archildrens.org) and/or Pulaski county Humane Society at Donate - Humane Society of Pulaski County (warmhearts.org)
