Joseph Wood

Joseph T. Wood, 89, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019. He was born June 1, 1929 in Augusta, Arkansas to Roy and Josephine Wood. He graduated from Henderson State in 1951 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years. On the GI bill he received his Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Arkansas in 1959. He was a band director in Marvell and Osceola. Joe was later employed by Wausau Insurance Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock.

Joseph is survived by his daughters, Ann Elizabeth Hogan, of Little Rock and Cynthia Jo Barrington (Daniel) of Maumelle and several grand-dogs.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Cooper Wood.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Pulaski County Humane Society or NLR First United Methodist Church Music Department.

Private family services will be held.
