Joseph Ray Trantham, Sr, 94 of Little Rock, passed away on January 2, 2015. He was born on March 19, 1920 in Alexander, AR to Joseph M. and Ora (LeRoy) Trantham. Joseph was a member of Geyer Springs Church of Christ. He was a forty plus veteran of the Little Rock Fire Department where he retired as District Chief and was also a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp serving in WWII.
Survivors include sons, Joe Trantham (Valerie) of Cave City, AR, Mike Trantham (Susan) of Morgantown, WVA, and Philip A. Trantham (Liz) of Alexander, AR; grandchildren, Rachel Trantham of New Orleans, LA, Jason Trantham of Denver, CO, Blake Curtis, of Conway, AR, Haley Trantham of Conway, AR, Ashley Jones of Bryant, AR, niece, Diana Ditka of Chicago, IL, and nephew, Dickey Trantham of Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bonnye Sue Trantham and brothers, Henry and Leroy Trantham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6th at Geyer Spring Church of Christ, 6004 West 53rd St, Little Rock, AR 72209, with Mr. Dale Brown officiating. Visitation will preceded the service starting at 10:00 a,m, Burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock, AR.
