Joseph John Skretkowicz

Joseph John Skretkowicz, 94, of North Little Rock, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024.  Joseph was born on March 2, 1930, to John and Louise Skretkowicz.  He was extremely loving and devoted to his family as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  Throughout his life he spent countless hours volunteering at St. Anne’s Catholic Church and helping his neighbors around their Park Hill homes.   He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and continued his military service in the Arkansas Army National Guard, retiring as a Sergeant First Class.  He also worked in manual arts therapy at the Veterans Administration Hospital, North Little Rock, retiring after 33 years.  During retirement he enjoyed over 20 years of part-time employment assisting families during services by Smith Family Funeral Home.  He was a lifetime faithful Roman Catholic and most recently a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. 

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Michael) Bulmanski of Sherwood; son, Steven (Karen) Skretkowicz of Lakeland, TN; five grandchildren, Jenna (Tim) Pride and Kayla Bulmanski, all of North Little Rock; Aaron (Jessica) Bulmanski, of Sherwood; Elizabeth Skretkowicz (Jared Griffey) of Edwards, CO, and Christopher (Caroline) Skretkowicz of Atlanta, GA; three great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Caden, and Adalynn Pride; and one brother, Jay Bawiec.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Regina Bawiec Skretkowicz; his parents; and three sisters, Frances Bawiec, Helen Kaplon, and Florence Luyet. 

Pallbearers will be Christopher Skretkowicz, Aaron Bulmanski, Tim Pride, Pat Kaplon, Frank Strozyk Jr., Michael Strozyk. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7000 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, followed by interment at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. followed by rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
