Joseph Mehyou

Joseph Mehyou, age 32, died on Friday, January 13, 2023, in North Little Rock. He is survived by his father, Muhieddine (Morie) Mehyou; mother, Julia Hudson; sister, Heba Brown (Covy); stepmother, Myriam Mehyou; stepsister, Jennifer Cook (Paul); and three nieces Leslie, Layla Brown and Gabby Cook; and one nephew, James Cook of Little Rock; two chosen sisters, Micha Panek Gorse of Frankfurt, Germany and Efsun Erbus of Istanbul, Turkey and special friends, Greg and Cammy Jones of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is also survived by several uncles, aunts and cousins in Lebanon, Brazil and Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leslie and Bernice Goodwin of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Anis and Enam Mehio of Beirut Lebanon; and sister, Leslie Mehyou of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Joseph was born on January 9, 1991, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Morie Mehyou and Julia Hudson. He graduated from Parkveiw Arts and Science Magnet High School in 2009. He joined the Marines right out of High School and proudly served his country as Marine Reserve for two years.

Joseph was a kindhearted person who cared about others and volunteered to serve any cause that related to Veterans, homeless people and animals. He donated blood when he could and at one time, he donated his bone marrow to save the life of a child after he was identified as a match.

Joseph is loved by all who knew him, and he never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face and welcomed all people. He loved his family and his family loved him immensely. He brought joy to our lives, and he will be greatly missed.

A celebration of his life visitation is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home (8801 Knoedl Court, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205) with a memorial service following at 3:00 PM.
