Joseph Jones

Joseph L. Jones, 85, passed away Thursday, July 16th, 2009, at his home in
North Little Rock, AR.

He was born December 25th, 1923, one of five sons to Thomas J. Jones and
Lillian V. Gilkey of Higginsville, MO.

While stationed at Camp Robinson during WWII, Joe met and married
his wife of 65 years, Madie R. Satterfield of North Little Rock.

Joe served his country not only in WWII, but retired from the Air Force
Reserve with 30+ years of service. He retired after 21 years with the Pulaski
County Clerks office to operate the Madijo Hobby House he and his wife
opened in 1965 in North Little Rock, closing its doors in 2001.

Joe was a member of Amboy Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic
Lodge. He was an artist and often painted memories of his home in Missouri
and of railroad scenes.

Joe was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Joe is survived by his wife, Madie, two sons, Lee and Paula Jones of
Fayetteville; John and Vicki Jones of North Little Rock, six
grandchildren, Danny Jones Jr; Debbie Rosamond; Allison Phillips;
David Jones, Jessica Jones and Vinson Jones, eight great-grandchildren,
one great-great-grandson and his brother Norman Jones of Salina, KS.

Joe was preceded in death by one son, Danny L Jones of Dauphin Island, AL.,
three brothers, Llwellyn Jones of KC, MO.; Dwane Jones of Blue Springs, MO.
and Billy Jones of Higginsville, MO.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St. 758-1170.
