Joseph "Joe" Mato, Sr

Joseph “Joe” Mato, Sr., age 79, of Cabot, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023.  He was born July 16, 1943, to the late Salavador Mato and Lillian Anziano Mato in Salem, New Jersey.  

Joe was a bartender at the Faux Pas in the French Quarter in New Orleans for many years.  He also loved watching old westerns and listening to Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Motown and all the oldies.

Survivors include his sons, Joseph “Joe” Mato Jr. and wife Sharon of New Orleans, LA and John “Tony” Mato and wife Michelle of Ward; seven grandchildren, Tori, Anthony, Kayli, Evan, Remi, Savannah, and Ryli; great-grandchildren, Kinleigh and Saige; two sisters, Barbara “Bobbie” Thomas and Rosemary Pereira (Reinaldo "Ray"); sister-in-law, Mary Mato of Florida as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Rebecca “Becky” Mato; his brother, Samuel “Sammie” Mato; sisters, Dolly Mato and Phyllis Mato; and brother-in-law, Evelio “Tommy” Thomas.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 22,2023 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe, Arkansas 72012.  Private burial at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
