Joseph Hamel

Joseph Arthur Hamel, passed away peacefully at Hospice on March 18, 2016. He was born on March 13, 1920 in Woonsocket, RI. He was born to the late Joseph and Grazalia Hamel. He grew up in Rhode Island along with his three brothers and four sisters. All preceded him in death including one son, Jim Skarda of California, except for one sister, Terry Kiczak who still lives in in Rhode Island.

In 1994 his loving wife of 52 years Marie Garrich Skarda Hamel also found peace with the Lord leaving behind cherished memories of them with their sons, William and wife Kathy Skarda of Carlisle, AR; Robert and Cissy Skarda of Little Rock, AR and Elizabeth Knopp of Vilonia, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Rosary services will begin at 9:00am with visitation following at 9:30am on Monday, March 28th at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Care Links and to Baptist Hospice for the wonderful and loving care given to our loved one, Joseph Arthur Hamel.
