Joseph S. Green, 87, of Little Rock, died June 25, 2016.
He was born February 28, 1929 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Joseph S. Green (Sr.) and Mary Ethel Green. He was a baker for Meyer's Bakery and an operator for Granite Mountain Quarries. He loved music and was an accomplished musician, with steel guitar as his special interest. He had four brothers, Rev. Carmon (Eugene) Green, Rev. William (Bill) Green, Ivol Green and Tommy Green.
Joe's survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mary Janette Green; three sons, Phillip, Ray (Doris) and Gary (Pat); three daughters, Phyllis Schreckise (James), Fay Michael (Charles) and Teresa Gross (Perry). He enjoyed an extended family of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Joe was a family man with a generous heart, and he was concerned about the well-being of his family and others. He made sure the needs of his family were met before his own needs. He taught his children the value of family, saying, "Stay together. You will be okay if you stay together."
We love you, Dad. We will miss you greatly.
