Joseph Benson Coleman Jr., 78, of North Little Rock, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008. He was born in Keo, Arkansas on October 21, 1929 to the late Joseph B. and Emma Coleman, Sr.
He graduated from Central High School and worked in Office Supply sales, most recently as owner of Coleman?s Office Supply Co. in North Little Rock, also delivered the Arkansas Gazette and Democrat Gazette for 30 years. He had a favorite hobby for many years of racing homing pigeons, for which he won several trophies; the longest of which was a pigeon that flew 600 miles. He was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene in North Little Rock.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gertrude Oxford Coleman; his daughter, Patty O?Brion of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Rita Coleman of Longview, Texas; Paul and Sherry Coleman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Grace Church of the Nazarene, 3923 Camp Robinson Rd., North Little Rock, AR 72118.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday at Grace Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
