Jonathan "Jon" Curtis Mitchell

Jonathan “Jon” Curtis Mitchell, age 47, of Alexander, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Jon was born on November 26, 1975, in Little Rock, the son of Stanley “Stan” Mitchell and Della Copeland Mitchell.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete and Ora Copeland, Curtis Mitchell, and his bonus grandfather, E.C. Logan.

Jon had a love for the game of baseball, and played with his high school team, as well as with Williams Baptist College.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.  Jon also enjoyed playing golf and was a fierce competitor every chance he got to play against his dad and brother. 

Above all, Jon was a wonderful son, brother, and friend, who loved his family and friends with all his heart.  He always had a special gift of being able to make others laugh and feel happy.  Jon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jon is survived by his loving parents, Stan and Della Mitchell; his brother, Josh Mitchell, all of Alexander; his grandmother, Wanda (Dean) Logan of Glenwood; his aunts and their spouses, Betty Lambert, Joyce York, both of Amity, Fern Wehunt of Caddo Gap, Penny and James Wright of Bonnerdale, and his favorite aunt, Becky and Gary Schaefer of Scott; his uncle, Arlo Copeland of Bismarck; numerous wonderful cousins, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

A celebration of Jon’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 14, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Ron Parker officiating.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.

Interment will be in the Sweet Home Cemetery in Amity.
