Johnny Moten, Jr., a beloved member of his family and community, passed away on October 4, 2024, at the age of 43. Born on September 16, 1981, in San Antonio, Texas, Johnny’s life was marked by an infectious smile and an upbeat demeanor that illuminated the lives of those around him.
Johnny devoted many years in the manufacturing industry with his latest job being employed at Masimo, where he excelled as a distribution supervisor. Johnny was known for his passion for CrossFit, where he met his loving wife, Alicia. Their bond was a testament to their shared interests and laughter, particularly their trips to Disney, where Mickey Mouse held a special place in his heart.
Johnny was a man of numerous hobbies and interests. He was a passionate individual whose love for baking and barbecuing brought friends and family together. He enjoyed experimenting with new recipes, sharing his creations with his CrossFit family. His love for his dogs had no bounds. His enthusiasm for life was truly contagious, and those who were fortunate enough to know him will remember his vibrant spirit.
He is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Alicia, and their cherished children: sons Ethan Moten and Brandon Mowery, and daughters Taylor Mowery and Macey Mowery. Johnny also leaves behind his sister, Felicia Flores, niece Sinclair Garcia, and nephew Aaron Gonzales, as well as his mother-in-law, Verna Carson. Beyond his human family, Johnny was a devoted dog lover, sharing his home with eight beloved doggies, one cat, and five grand-puppies.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Moten, Sr. and Herlinda Flores. His legacy, characterized by his love for family, friends, and all things joyful, will forever be cherished.

Visitation will be at 11:00 AM with a memorial service following at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107).
